Recap of the 2014 Alumni Banquet

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended and/or participated in the planning or execution of the University of Georgia Rugby Alumni Banquet on Jan 25, 2014. It was a great success on many levels. We had hoped for around 85 attendees, expected to get around 60, and actually got over 100 Alumni, current players, and guests. We also were able to raise money to put towards our short- and long-term goals for the UGARFC.

Georgia loses tough match to Florida

Georgia Rugby hosted the University of Florida Rugby Football Club in an important SEC match as they fell to the Gators 32-24. Both teams were coming off of a loss.

The Dawgs were down 8-7 midway through the first half, but they kept the game within reach throughout the afternoon. They entered the half down by 6 and UGA Rugby president Hutton Brandon described their first half as “tough.” The Dawgs got a few breaks but found late success in defending the end zone.
