It was a drizzly, very windy day for rugby. MTSU's field is very narrow, which made this a pack centered game. MTSU got on the board first with a converted try in the 7th minute. They extended it in the 30th with a quick tap try to make it 12-0. Michael Thompson got us on the board in the 34th minute when we stole their scrum and he took it 10 meters for the try. Ryan Cooke converted from the sideline, 12-7 at halftime.

We controlled the second half. Ryan Cooke made penalties in the 42nd and 58th minutes to take a 13-12 lead. In the 63rd Tyler Leonard took a lineout and went 20 meters for the try. Ryan Cooke finished the scoring with a penalty in the 70th minute. Final score 23-12.

Co-man of the match honors to John Stafford, for setting the tone defensively, and Ryan Cooke.

This game got off to an ugly start as in the 3rd minute a MTSU player punched our flyhalf Tony Niknejad, sending him to the hospital with a severe concussion. The MTSU player was red-carded and they played a man down the rest of the match. The MTSU players were very apologetic for their teammate and played a clean game the rest of the way.

Both teams had long breaks in the first half but they were all chased down and nobody could put any points on the board. Finally in the second half MTSU's scored an unconverted try off a 5 meter scrum for a 5-0 lead. Georgia had difficulty maintaining possession and wasn't able to score on their few opportunities. Final score 5-0 MTSU.

UGA man of the match was Chris "Sticks" Okotcha who played a very active game and had a couple strong runs.
