Georgia's men's club rugby captain Matt Botwin said he is delighted with the progress his team is making despite a 15-6 loss to Atlanta's Old White at the Intramural fields Friday night.
Botwin said he was impressed with the Bulldogs' performance, but knows there is plenty of room for improvement.
Old White took an early, 10-0 lead, but two Blake Richter penalties soon had Georgia back in contention.
Georgia's most creative spell came before halftime, but the team was unable to turn possession into points. As the second half commenced, the Bulldogs could not regain the momentum.
"Overall, I thought we had a good performance but not a great one," Georgia head coach Ray Chastain said.
A controversial factor of the outcome of this match was its duration: Had the game been played at regulatory length -- 40 minutes each way -- instead of the 25 requested by Old White, Chastain said he is confident his side could have gone on to claim victory.
